When it comes to renewing subscriptions, Subsail has a dunning process which automatically retries charges up to fives times over a fourteen day period.

Renewal days are:

• initial charge date (the "Recurring charge date" you added to your issue)
• day 1 after initial charge date
• day 4 after initial charge date
• day 9 after initial charge date
• day 14 after initial charge date

Additionally, if a retry is scheduled for a weekend day, it will be retried on the next weekday. Future retries will land on their expected days.

If a renewal payment fails on one of the renewal days, the subscription will be retried on the next renewal day. This process will continue until the subscription reaches the last day. If it fails here, it is cancelled.

This retry process is called “Dunning” and will help keep your subscriptions active and payments coming in when a payment fails due to a temporary reason like insufficient funds.

Any subscriptions in dunning will be marked “Past due” within your account. On a subscription page, you will see the grey “Past due” label followed by the next retry date.
